Space saving toilets can be a lifesaver when space within your new cloakroom or ensuite bathroom is tight. We recommend using a cloakroom toilet as opposed to a standard size WC if you are short on space. A smaller toilet can create a roomy enjoyable space in comparison to the cramped, claustrophobic one of a stadard-sized WC.
What is a cloakroom toilet?
A cloakroom toilet is designed to have less ceramic and minimise the space the toilet uses in your cloakroom or ensuite bathroom. There are different types of compact toilets such as a Close Coupled, wall hung and floor standing back to the wall. The cistern for a compact wall hung Compact toilet and a compact floor standing toilet is concealed. They generally give you more space than a compact close coupled toilet.
Cloakroom toilet with hidden cistern?
If you need to save as much space as possible a compact wall hung toilet or a compact freestanding back to the wall toilet might be the best solution. Each use a concealed toilet cistern, which is concealed in the wall so it is not taking up valuable space in your new cloakroom bathroom or ensuite.
What does short projection toilet mean?
A short projection toilet is a toilet that is designed not to protrude as far as a standard toilet. This would be the distance from the wall to the end of the pan.
How do you know if a toilet will fit?
There isn't a one size fits all for a cloakroom bathroom or ensuite bathroom. The space you will be working to is generally unique to your property. We would recommend working with you fitter/plumber and measuring your new bathroom and seeing what size area you have to work with. You may also be limited by where your existing pipework is in the bathroom.
Are short projection toilets comfortable?
It does depend ultimately on the size of the pan and seat. There is an array of sizes of pans that are categorised as short projection. Generally, as the WC is smaller it can be a bit more uncomfortable than a standard WC, but this is a necessity to save space.
