What is a hinged shower door?

Hinged doors are mounted similarly to the doors in your lounge and bedroom at home. The side hinges are fixed near the top and bottom of the vertical length of the shower door. Using a hinged door removes the need for a top or header bar, giving you the option to create the frameless look to your showering unit. Hinged doors project fully outward or inward to give you maximum space for entry and exit. This is something to be considered when you are thinking about the space available in your showering area.

A pivot door differs because rather than being mounted on side hinges, the door is mounted on pivot hinges. These are located at the top and bottom of the door. This style of hinge allows the door to swing 180 degrees rather than 90. So if space is an issue in your bathroom, then a door that opens inward is a good option. You are still afforded a generous width of space in which to enter and exit, but the largest width is not available due to where the pivot is mounted.
